The essence of incredible Chhattisgarh endowed with rich heritage of culture, abundant flora-fauna and large industrial structure, all these are the factors which integrating India, while seeking India to be a world leader, create a perfect blend with the rest of the world, with harmonious bonding together to bring into existence of knowledge based society, strengthening and enriching fountain of diversified global cultures, bringing peace and prosperity in the world. I am honoured to welcome you to Bharti Vishwavidyalaya, Durg. Situated at the bank of Shivnath river, the life line of two sister cities – Durg and Bhilai.
After having decades of establishment of HEIs in India, one can experience in recent years the rapid changes that is taking place in the scenario of academic excellence in these institutions. We believe that learning has taken a paradigm shift over time, from a place of merely facilitating the acquisition of knowledge, to a position of capacity building for implementing the knowledge to make an impact in the society and for the betterment of humanity. Keeping this in mind, we are going to adopt a highly practical, solution based academic system, with a comprehensive curriculum designed to offer the much-needed solutions in Science, Engineering, Pharmacy, Law, Arts, Social Science, Rural Studies, Yoga Science, Information Science, Management and Business Administration, e- Commerce and Mass Communication and Journalism. In this era of globalisation, both the cultural boundaries and the national dynamics are gradually becoming more transparent and responsive to nation building.
Aiming to produce enlightened citizens who will be able to increase standard of living of its people and to promote economic growth and prosperity, the university shall take the role of developing and shaping the goal, attitudes, beliefs and ideologies of the students, to assimilate knowledge for the betterment of the society, to disseminate amongst all of humanity that ultimately leads to mankind. Indeed, our curriculum are so designed to cater the needs of our society and to fulfil the dreams of our young aspirants. The university also intend to give exposure to students at an earlier stage, while at the same time creating a platform for collaborative research. I firmly believe that an academic institution does not merely provide degrees to its students, instead, it should establish a whole new ecosystem that will nourish innovative ideas and their solutions and to encourage the spirit by which the trajectory of knowledge creation and its application will intersect, for making rapid strides in sustainable technological development in the country. With the holy words ” तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय (tamaso mā jyotirgamaya)” lead us from darkness to light and “विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते (vidyayā amṛtaṃ aśnute)” eat nectar through knowledge, i.e. be immortal through knowledge, once again, I welcome you to Bharti Vishwavidyalaya.
